Details: Shimmer was one of the best polocrosse mares playing in WA. She is super soft with a great stop and check, a very big heart and a cheeky attitude. She will run all day and still keep giving on Sunday afternoon. Her sire Gamble was a champion on the WA camp-draft and ASH scene and her dam Serene has many successful progeny still competing. Unfortunately due to an injury Shimmer has now retired to the broodmare paddock much earlier than we had hoped. She produced a lovely grey filly in Sept 09 by Hogans Tribune (see Qualia Shine) and has been re-joined to him for 2010. We are looking forward to some very promising progeny from her in the coming years.

Details: Poco is a proven broodmare by the great sire Star Black Minstril. She has produced many top quality foals that have played at Nationals, and is the dam of Doug Brown’s super gelding Pokémon who was awarded the Champion Men’s Horse at the 2009 State Championships. Poco’s dam Quona has also produced come fantastic horses including Edenhope Cinderella who is owned and played by Kerryn Parsons, member of WA Women’s Team, and a full brother that was recently selected to represent Victoria in the Men’s at Ballarat Nationals. This mare boasts a strong, proven polocrosse line and is a very welcome addition to our broodmare band. She recently foaled a lovely palomino filly and will now be joined to Hogans Tribune for a 2010 foal.

Details: Brooch was a very handy A Grade polocrosse mare for the Turnball family in NSW before an accident which put her in the broodmare paddock. Her sire Holmwood Bush Glow is a full brother to the influential Realm of Fire and half brother to Gerald O’Brien’s talented stallion Holmwood Tim Astra. Her dam line is very similar to that of Haydon Angel Jewel who was awarded the coveted prize of Best Playing Pony at the 2009 Guards Cartier International Polo Tournament in the UK. She has produced some fantastic progeny for her previous owner and has recently had a lovely bay colt foal by Impressive Destiny. ID is by super sire Acres Destiny and out of Binnia Impression whose career can only be described as outstanding. She won over 80 camp-drafts and finalled in the Warwick Gold Cup 3 times. Troy Palmer describes him as an exceptional athlete with a long list of credentials. Brooch has been joined to Hogans Tribune for a 2010 foal, she is certainly a quality asset to the broodmare paddock for Qualia.

Details: We have been very fortunate to be offered the loan of Jane Cooper’s grey mare Steps who has been joined to the well bred Bourkes Sambou who is throwing some very handy progeny. Steps is one of 2 foals produced by polocrosse legend East Lynne Plucker and her dam Drift is by the renowned polo sire Terlings Jacman. Steps has played at both National and International level competing for Jane at the 2003 and 2007 World Cups and also playing in the Men’s WA Team at the 2006 Camden Nationals. She is a fast, athletic mare that had to step up very early in her career.
